Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them upside down, taking audiences into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his passing. The Watcher: [Opening narration for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than a linear path. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know. I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” After the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated shape in the show’s art style. Edited for Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very straightforward episode of rushing things to get these pieces of the puzzle together. And my facial expressions were pretty serious watching this episode too, as there was no emotion or even a logical narrative, I get that it’s an animated show aimed at kids, maybe? But only kids who are familiar with the entire MCU by now might be able to appreciate it. Let’s see how the rest of the episodes turn out, but I’m certainly not too excited about them after this one. Edit: The second episode gave the real feel of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful with some great WHAT IF moments. I really enjoyed watching T’challa back on screen. However, the third episode was a game-changer and made me edit this review. It was so emotional and thrilling to watch, I could have watched an entire movie in this episode. It re-explored the characters we know to a level that leaves you wanting more. I hope to get a 10-star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s my one more star for a “weird” thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the bunch in terms of writing, narration, animation, and plot. Special mention to Benedict Cumberbatch for nailing the narration like a boss. Bow down Marvel for doing this one. However, coming into episode 5, the episode was entertaining for sure, it was humorous and engaging with quality animation, but again it showed too much at once, not giving viewers enough time to absorb things. Still an overall 9/10 for the series until the next two episodes at least. They have to beat episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
