No apologies necessary

His characters are always grounded and he's extremely adept at casting. But to be great you need to write good parts for women. The writing needs to be as good, if not better, than it is for men. Dudes are simple. Women are smarter, more complex.

They're strong and compelling

Beth on Yellowstone (great character and performance) the barrel riders, the lone female ranch hand (the fantastic Jen Landon as Teeter) all great female characters that fit in the world of the story in a natural, unforced way. Not just 'the partner of…' or T & A. He stepped up his game with the excellent character Faith Hill crushed in "1883" followed by Dame Mirren in the misfire that was "1923". Now we have Zoe Saldana, doing some of the best work of her career. I absolutely buy her as CIA boss in an open marriage (nice touch).

Veracity first and foremost!

I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with burning rage that won't quit and thank you, thank you, thank you writers/Dir./producers for NOT letting her get the best of a fellow male soldier with an additional one-hundred pounds of muscle. I think her character is way more interesting if she is someone who has to be knocked out cold or just overpowered on the ground before she'll quit. Now let's talk about Jill Wagner or should I say her hair? What an about face! From schmaltzy Hallmark dreck to super-badass special forces?

Special mention: Ms

I'm buying it. Lanier as the nasty teen daughter. I await the arc laid out for this loose canon as long as they continue to steer clear of teen angst cliche. Good actor, it could get interesting…

Media expert Muncie Daniels must fight for his innocence and life after uncovering a murder deep in the Poconos. Colman Domingo’s first starring role on television. 6 episodes in and there’s still so much to cringe at, the story is its own worst enemy. Unfortunately the writers have made the characters seem like complete idiots where they make decisions that are just not realistic. From the main characters making decisions that no sane person would ever make to the police and FBI all doing things that would never happen in real life because they’d all be fired, to all the supporting cast, it really hurts the story as a whole. It’s like watching one of those horror movies where the characters all decide to split up because they don’t want to work together even though there’s an axe-wielding maniac somewhere. I like the premise of the story and the acting, while not great, is okay, but the script is just awful. I’m really having a hard time finishing this.

TLDR: Redmayne nails it

In The Day of the Jackal (1973), The Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier model. Referenced in Graham Norton and Gosti: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). Lynch is poorly cast.

Overall, the story is a viable adaptation

Unfortunately, the leads are not on par with each other, which detracts from the otherwise spectacular and high-quality production. No shade towards Lynch, it’s just a high bar that Redmayne has set. A more experienced actor could have perhaps provided a more believable counterpart/adversary character needed to challenge The Jackal.

The deception barometer is constantly on in the background

The character development works in some way, even if some things are simply left open in the main characters’ stories, but that could be desired. The locations, the varied interactions, and the way Redmayne interprets languages ​​and character changes really add a special layer to the story arc. I look forward to seeing how Season 1 ends and how the quality is maintained or improved in Season 2.

If she does, Season 2 could be very promising

I hope Lynch loosens up to be less forced and gives a more nuanced performance in trying to meet Redmayne.

Adapted from the novel by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, "I'm Still Here" actually improves on the book by focusing on the Paiva family and how each member was started and heartbroken by the disappearance of their father (played with deep affection by Selton Mello). By focusing on the human aspects and the sense of loss of those people who never got and answer about their loved one’s disappearance, the script gets more powerful as it goes along.

She’s persuasive and moving without ever being melodramatic, in a masterful work

All the performances from the young actors are top-notch – a rare feat in Brazilian cinema – but it’s Fernanda Torres’ incredibly restrained performance that really stays with you. This is the best Brazilian film in years, a gift from director Walter Salles ("Central Station").

"I’m Still Here" is a movie to cherish and to hold

Pay attention to the brief but powerful cameo by Fernanda Montenegro (an Oscar nominee for "Central Station") at the very end.

Whether they are exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about.. The fans on the floor in various episodes turn in the wrong direction, regarding the orientation of the blades.

I have just started watching this show

Rotating this way does not push or pull any air.. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 2023 TV Shows You Need to Binge (2023). Something has stood out from the beginning.

The sound of the actors' voices is very clear

My compliments to the sound people, this is a small miracle.I very frequently struggle to hear what actors are saying in shows and films. Perhaps it's something to do with the acoustics of a silo? But I think not, I believe it is down to some very good work by the movie sound people who record and edit the voices of the actors.

I really enjoyed it

It is rare to hear the voices of actors with such delightful clarity.It is almost like hearing the voices of actors in the theatre, it is so good.I am several episodes in now and I am enjoying the acting and the story. There are good characters well portrayed and something is gradually being unravelled with regard to the history and operational details of the silo. I am not sure where it is all leading yet, but it is certainly keeping me engaged.I have now completed series one.

There is a significant element of the ending that is identical to a reveal that happens in a film

To avoid spoilers I won't say the name of the film, but I'm sure that others know the one that I mean if they have seen it. This did not detract from my enjoyment of Silo and I'm not sure who came up with the idea first in any event as I don't know when the book that Silo was based on was written.
