In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion and the inescapability of their past and their fate.. This is Netflix's most expensive Latin American-made project to date, with Colombian groups and indigenous communities constructing props and sets for the series..
This really could have been terrible but it's not
It's always a challenge to translate inner thoughts and fears and doubts and inner reactions to things like visions! The dubbing is pretty good in English but I switched to Spanish with English subtitles and it felt more comfortable.
I've read the book three times in my life and it's ok
I'm pleased they're taking their time over the table as it's important to set the scene and even so it feels a little hurried but with sixteen episodes I'll live with it. No expense has been spared with the locations and the sets and that does help create the atmosphere.
No censorship please!
Looking forward to the questionable ethnics stuff! "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.

The men and women live in a giant silo underground, where they are subject to numerous regulations that they believe protect them from the toxic and ruined world above. Whether they are exploring the stars, escaping a dystopia, or making the world a better place, these women are the epitome of science fiction. Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book Wool – the book has 82 chapters. The fans on the floor in various episodes spin in the wrong direction, as far as the orientation of the blades.
First of all, I love dystopian literature!
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Must Watch (2023) My first review! I read the Hughes trilogy years ago and really enjoyed them. When I happened to look through the IMDb database and found SILO, I was immediately intrigued. I see some mixed reviews and I can relate to some of them, so here’s my take on the first season.
It’s not an adaptation in the sense that it follows a plot
The dystopian genre offers a unique psychological perspective on human nature in hypothetical scenarios. My fondness for the trilogy has grown stronger because Hughes managed to expand on Orwellian ideas in a hypothetical context relevant to the modern world. Imagining the development of the human psyche in dystopian scenarios is a difficult task. I think Hughes did a great job, SILO captured most of these aspects in a refreshing way.
The acting of the main characters is phenomenal
The plot is based on the books, but it has to adapt to the audience and the rapidly changing world. Despite all this, the show manages to capture the atmosphere of a society living in a silo. Unlike the shallow narrative of other shows, SILO has a great combination of character development and focus on atmosphere. The only problem I have with this show is the lack of atmosphere development.
Naturally, this has to appeal to the audience
A lot of screen time is devoted to the pursuit and capture of Juliette. They lack atmospheric development of the silo as a society. Try it!

Read MoreCIA agent Joe tries to balance her personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terrorism. Real military advisors helped produce a more authentic execution of weapons handling, house cleaning, positioning, team-based activities, etc. Mentioned in Sovereign Awards (2024). Why, why do they always insist on one teen character who is constantly angry and irrational? That has *never* benefited any TV show. Zoe Saldana’s daughter is a complete stereotype, every pathetic, angry teen tropes rolled into one character. One minute you’re watching a show about secret agents in the Middle East, the next you’re subjected to endless scenes of family turmoil caused by one selfish teen who *no one in the world cares about*. My advice: fast-forward through every scene she appears in. They add absolutely nothing – zero – nada – zilch to the plot. Skipping them will do wonders for your blood pressure.
