Claire Beauchamp Randall, a World War II nurse, is mysteriously transported back in time to Scotland in 1743. There, she meets a Highland warrior and becomes involved in an epic rebellion. Moore (creator of the television series), his team decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English.

This kept the narrative in the first person, reflecting Claire’s inability to understand Gaelic

The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he saw something similar in the alternative foreign film Skin Deep (1998), starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. In several episodes, the characters say “okay.” ; an American term that only came into use in the 19th century. The theme song changes from season to season to reflect what is happening in the storyline.

Season 3 adds tribal drums as most of the season takes place in the West Indies

In the first half of season 2 (which takes place in France), some of the lyrics are in French. The second half of season 2 (mostly about preparing for war) adds a militaristic drumming to the opening theme. Season 4 adds bluegrass fiddle and banjo, and some of the lyrics are sung in a southern accent as the season is set mostly in America.

The undeniable and unenviable truth is that all politics is born of war and that is something the Irish people must remember

The so-called legitimate parties in Irish politics are no better and definitely no different than Sinn Féin, they just have better press officers.

Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him onscreen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 movie sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the titular character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap the preplanned sequel Double Cross.. I just got done binging all eight episodes of Cross and have to say I absolutely loved it.

I’ve been looking forward to it ever since I first heard about it so I had pretty high expectations. Well, this show not only met those expectations but surpassed them in every way.

That movie was trash, this series is fantastic

There was an Alex Cross movie that came out in 2012 starring Tyler Perry that was just awful. Please don’t let that deter you from watching this because they are different in every way.

Amazon has so much faith in this show that they already renewed it for another season before the first episode ever aired

Another great adaptation for Amazon Prime, they have done an amazing job with their adaptations for tv series (Reacher, Fallout, Lord of the Rings, Jack Ryan, The Boys, Bosch, The Wheel of Time, Daisy Jones and the Six, Good Omens , etc, etc.).
