Army sends a volunteer company to patrol the uncharted western territories
Story
In the winter of 1862, during the Civil War, the U.S. Minervini had the set built in Montana, after which the actors were allowed to live in it for two months. The dialogue and ideas presented are those that the actors came up with while living in the wilderness, imagining themselves as Civil War soldiers.
"Roberto Minervini’s New Movie" Who???
Not that anyone has ever heard of him or seen his other boring movies. Even though the Civil War was fought between the North and the South, for some very stupid reason some Northern soldiers are sent west to “chart unknown territories”. ; because the North apparently has soldiers on reserve to do something completely unnecessary for the war effort.
Nothing else happens
Throughout the boring movie, these soldiers just wander around, camp out, and talk a lot of boring nonsense. "Have you ever shot anyone?" "Yes, rabbit."Really deep and philosophical. Huh.
Or watch any 70s spaghetti western
These "soldiers" Never act like real soldiers during the Civil War, and never talk like them. For some perspective, I recommend the brilliant Ken Burns documentary. Even “Django vs Space-zombies” is more realistic (and also much more entertaining) than this garbage.
