44.24 (2022). So far the show is good, very good, one feeling I can’t shake is the daughter. In the show they state that the daughter is 17 and then they continue to sexualize her in an extreme way!

All these scenes have nothing to do with the story and make them unpleasant to watch

I understand what they are doing with the character, a daughter who is going down the wrong path and her father will get her back on the right path. You could have easily avoided this by just stating that she was 18, you can be 18 and still be in high school! I wish they had rewritten her charter and had no idea how this got to the publisher.

Just finished the much anticipated first episode and as a hardcore Dexter fan I had to force myself to give the new actors a chance. After a few minutes into it I completely forgot they were different actors. Obviously we can’t have all of the original actors somehow play their younger selves all of these years later.

Anyway it picks a great starting point which was his first kill

They must have had to reshoot that kill scene so many times because I feel like it was very well balanced against the same kill scene from the original show. In fact one could argue that the flashbacks in the original Dexter were memories where Dexter views everyone as who they are now. This series are actual events and not a memory which is why everyone may look slightly different than their counterparts did in the original.

It is so crazy the resemblance and mannerisms

Also, did anyone do a double take when they saw Batista? Did they figure out a way to make the actor go back in time? The younger actor Dexter was very well acted too.

I can not wait for more!

Comedy, drama, action, thriller, self-exploration AND MUSIC

It balances each genre and gives it enough time without it feeling like too much.

a movie that played two roles in this movie perfectly

Every acting performance in this movie is exceptional, especially Zoe Saldana in the first half of the movie and Karla Sofia Gascón in the second. Unfortunately, everything about Selena Gomez, her acting and character needed more effort. A very weak character who was just a filler to make the main character and the events of the story more complex.

The other really showcased Zoe Saldana’s performance, as it was great with all the darkness and minimal lighting

While musicals are not my thing, this movie was so unique in that every song was done creatively in terms of direction and lyrics. Two songs that really caught my attention are one that touched on the political aspect of Mexico, which had such a creative and unique direction.
