The first episode was better than the preview
It’s a quiet and lonely show, as (almost!) everyone except the main character has died from a pandemic, but it uses that silence to ask worthy existential questions about loneliness, whether you should strive to live if all your loved ones are dead, hope, and how to move forward. There is a famous book with this title/theme and we will see how much this series complements and parallels that novel.
The first episode is good enough to watch more
It has a Walking Dead feel of devastation and despair, but without the zombies, and instead the personal struggle to survive in a significantly changed world. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.

Gareth Edwards "dropped everything" to direct the film, stating prior to production, "I was just about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only film that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right into it. I love Jurassic Park (1993)…so this opportunity is like a dream come true. And to work with Frank Marshall and Universal and David Koepp, who is writing the script, I think they are all legends. So I’m just really excited.". Featured on MSK: EP 33 | New James Gunn Superman Photo Dropped | Another Jurassic World Trilogy (2024)
A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry
Story
A modern story of finding your fortune in the West Texas oil rig world. Watch writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular movies and series on IMDb, ranked by user rating. , will act as an intermediary between geological exploration companies and landowners.
They also partially repair, solve problems and mediate
It is usually the role of the landowner to negotiate and enter into agreements with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Basically, they manage the land and secure the lease so they can drill for oil and gas. Working as a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, workers’ living quarters (men’s camp), collect earthmoving equipment and drill the well itself, especially in remote areas.
Ever since Cicero, I have been completely obsessed with anything related to the Sheridan name
Seeing what he’s capable of based on his incredible scripts and past films, I have to admit I’m a little disappointed with Landman’s four series. Maybe it’s because I had really high expectations considering all the famous actors were included, but also because I was diving into boom town life after the amazing expansion of ranch life. But I think Sheridan has too much fun, including extravagant scenes with Tommy’s ex-wife Ellie Larter and his extraordinary daughter Michelle Randpaul, who was brilliant in 1923.
I don’t see any of the side plots they’re involved in adding anything significant to moving the plot forward
Sheridan is at his best when he’s pushing the pedal of an action drama, as seen in the second season of Special Ops: Lion or in all his previous dramas. It’s disappointing knowing what he’s capable of, but even though it’s only four episodes in, I’m still hoping he uses Jon Hamm more and this show takes off. The mother and daughter walls together are really gross and I hate to say it, but Randolph is just over the top and I can’t believe her acting.
I hope this isn’t another entertainment value project like Tulsa King Season 2, which turned into a comedy punctuated by brief moments of great drama (I really enjoyed the first season)
I know Sheridan has his own umbrella and hosts so many shows, but I wish he would focus on quality over quantity because this show has the potential to be great if it gets serious.
